First Assembly is intent on making a difference in our community by loving God (Worship), loving people (Making Disciples) and living lives that are real and transparent (Sharing Life Together). We are also committed to making a difference in the world through our support of World Missionaries. We are currently pursuing the purchase of additional property that will support the vision to provide ministry that offers solutions to real life problems.
We Believe…
We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and that it reveals the one true God to man through the persons of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures declare that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Even though mankind came to experience physical and spiritual death through the act of voluntary sin, Jesus provides our only hope of salvation in becoming the substitute sacrifice for our sin.
Baptism by immersion in water is our declaration that we have become new creatures in Christ Jesus. As we celebrate communion, we are remembering his death on the cross and are looking forward to his return.
We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit provides power for life and service for all believers and is evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues. When we come to know Christ, we dedicate ourselves to God and begin a lifelong process of daily depending on Him to maintain our separation from evil and dedication to Him. As members of the body of Christ, the mission of our church is to make Christ known to the world, to offer a place where God is worshipped freely and to equip and build the saints for service.
We believe that divine healing from sickness is provided for believers through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Christ. We look forward to the return of Christ and the resurrection of believers who have died in Christ along with the rapture of believers who are alive at His coming; to his reign on earth until the day of final judgment when those who do not know Christ will be judged according to their works; and to the day when believers will see the fulfillment of His promise of new heavens and a new earth filled with His glory and righteousness.
